Privacy policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026

1. Who we are

FindMeStock (“the app”) is operated by HouseApps Limited (“HouseApps”, “we”, “us”), a private limited liability company incorporated under the laws of England and Wales with company number 17243528 and with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. HouseApps, trading as FindMeStock, is the controller of your personal data and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under number ZC238380. This policy covers the FindMeStock website (findmestock.com) and apps. For privacy questions or requests, email support@findmestock.com.

2. The short version

3. What we collect

You can search and browse without an account. To create alerts you need an account, which needs an email address or an Apple or Google sign-in; without one we cannot send you alerts.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts or photos. If a feature needs your area, for example a postcode to check stock at nearby stores, we will ask for it. We do not intentionally collect special-category data such as health or religion.

4. Why we use it, and our legal bases

We do not make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects.

5. Analytics, advertising and your choices

With your consent, we use PostHog to understand how FindMeStock is used: for example, which features people use, how many searches find a product, and whether alerts lead people to a retailer. Nothing is collected until you choose Allow.

Advertising. When we advertise FindMeStock on other websites and apps, advertising platforms such as Google, Meta or TikTok may use cookies, pixels or similar technologies, with your consent, to tell us which ads and campaigns bring people to FindMeStock and whether they then sign up, install the app or subscribe, and to show you ads, including, if you confirm you are 18 years old or over, ads based on the products you track or search for. We may share information with them for this, such as that a sign-up happened, a pseudonymous or hashed identifier, and (for people aged 18 years old or over) the products or kinds of product you have tracked or searched for. We may also show adverts from other companies on the FindMeStock website and apps. If you confirm you are 18 years old or over and allow it, ad networks (such as Google AdSense or AdMob) may use cookies, your device's advertising identifier and your activity, including the products you track or search for, to personalise and measure those ads. Otherwise, any ads we show will not be personalised or use advertising cookies. On iPhone, we will ask your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency before any tracking across other companies' apps and websites. The platforms we use are listed on our Service providers page, and you can withdraw consent at any time from Privacy choices.

The records in section 4 that rely on legitimate interests are kept whatever you choose here.

6. Cookies and storage

The FindMeStock website uses only cookies and browser storage that are strictly necessary to sign you in, remember your choices and deliver notifications you have asked for, plus analytics, advertising and affiliate tracking cookies and storage, which are used only if you allow them. The apps store the equivalent information on your device. The full list, with how long each item lasts, is on our Cookies and storage page (findmestock.com/privacy/cookies).

When you visit a retailer, or pass through an affiliate network on the way, they may set their own cookies under their own policies.

7. Retailers and affiliate networks

When you follow a link to a retailer, we do not send them your name or contact details. Product images and retailer logos load directly from the retailer's or brand's servers, which can see your IP address, as with any website image.

Some Buy links may go through an affiliate network. The network receives the visit on its way to the retailer, including your IP address, and a click reference we create, and, if you allow affiliate tracking, may use cookies to record that you came from us. If you do not, we use tracking that does not rely on cookies where the network offers it, or link you straight to the retailer. If you buy something, the network tells us which click led to a sale and the commission, not your name, address or payment details. Because a click from a notification is linked to your account (section 3), we could tell that a sale followed one of your alerts; we use this only to reconcile commission and to measure whether alerts are useful. The networks we use, if any, are listed on our Service providers page.

8. Who we share data with, and international transfers

We share personal data only with:

We name each provider, what it does and where it processes data on our Service providers page (findmestock.com/privacy/service-providers).

Our database, sign-in and servers are mainly hosted in the United Kingdom. Some providers also process data in the EU/EEA, which the UK recognises as adequate, or in the United States and other countries. For those transfers we rely on the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Email us for a copy or more detail.

9. How long we keep data

We may keep information longer where we need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or to meet tax and accounting duties.

10. Deleting your account

Delete your account in the app or on the FindMeStock website (Account → Delete account). If you cannot sign in, email support@findmestock.com from the address on the account and we will delete it within one month. More detail is at findmestock.com/delete-account. Deleting affects subscriptions differently depending on where you bought them: see the Terms of Service.

When you delete your account, we stop your alerts and analytics straight away, and delete your account data, including the records our providers hold for us, normally within a day. Deleted data stays in our encrypted backups until they expire, within 30 days. We keep requests, stock reports, click records and subscription notices only in a form that is not linked to you, a minimal record that the deletion happened, and anything Apple, Google or Stripe must keep under their own obligations.

11. Your rights

Under UK data protection laws, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it (including where we rely on legitimate interests), and for a copy of the data you gave us in a machine-readable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You can change most settings, and delete alerts or your account, yourself in the app. For anything else, email support@findmestock.com. We may need to confirm it is you first, and we will reply within one month.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), though we would like the chance to help first.

12. Children and teenagers

FindMeStock is for people aged 13 years old and over, and people under 18 years old need a parent's or guardian's permission to buy. Analytics and advertising cookies are off unless you turn them on, personalised ads need you to confirm you are 18 years old or over, and we never track your precise location. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 years old; if we learn we have, we will delete it. Contact support@findmestock.com if you think a child under 13 years old has given us their data.

13. Security and changes to this policy

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest and restricted access. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the ICO where the law requires.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at findmestock.com/privacy with the date it last changed. If we make a material change, we will notify you in the app and/or on the FindMeStock website before it takes effect.
